Our Honeymoon - Part 5 - Big Sur, San Francisco and Northward

After leaving Yosemite, we headed back towards the coast...spent a night in Big Sur before going north to meet up with Shauna's brother in San Francisco.  We did a few touristy things while there, Baker beach (loaded with a bunch of naked old men) and Alamo Square (the Full House home)...then headed over to Dolores Park to check out the communal party scene that exists there on weekends.  We grabbed some dinner, drank a few beers, said our goodbyes and headed back to the hotel to get ready to hit the road in the morning. We awoke to the typical thick San Francisco morning fog...headed over the Golden Gate and through Marin County and were well into Mendocino before the fog fully lifted.  We camped for a night on the beach in Fort Bragg and woke up in the middle of the night to hear a mountain lion not far from our tent...needless to say it wasn't the coziest of nights.  We went further north in the morning and just before crossing the border into Oregon we stopped at both the Humboldt Redwoods SP and Jedediah Smith Redwood SP and spent some time with these beautifully inspiring giants.  If you have never seen the redwoods in person...please please please...add it to your bucket list.  They will literally take your breath away.

This post contains some of my absolute favorite shots from our trip...I really just love Northern California a ton.
